In short
A doctor-led medical weight loss programme, online anywhere in Spain:
a doctor reviews your history and habits by video call, orders blood tests when indicated and builds a staged plan with regular reviews. Medication is prescribed only when it is indicated. If you prefer, the consultation can also take place in Fuengirola.
How your visit goes
Five steps, and the first is not a treatment.
The same steps whatever the treatment. Nothing is decided for you, and nothing is done on day one unless it is indicated.
- 01
Initial consultation
We take your history, your family background, your habits and your goals. We understand your starting point and decide what is worth measuring.
- 02
Blood tests and body composition
A metabolic panel (glucose and insulin and their relationship, lipid profile, blood pressure and other markers as needed) alongside body composition. Blood tests are done at a centre near you.
- 03
Medical review
Your doctor interprets the whole picture, calculates your risk and defines what makes sense for you, including whether supportive medication is indicated or not.
- 04
A plan built for you
Nutrition, activity, strength, sleep and habits, in a realistic plan you can sustain, with clear, measurable goals.
- 05
Follow-up in cycles
Periodic reviews where we measure progress (weight, body composition, circumferences and markers) and adjust. The support is what sustains the result.
Definition
What a weight and metabolic programme is and why they belong together
- 01
Weight and metabolism are treated together because they are the same mechanism: abdominal fat worsens insulin, and insulin makes weight harder to lose.
- 02
Losing and keeping off 5-10% of body weight already improves blood pressure, glucose and lipids in many people.
- 03
Prediabetes and insulin resistance are largely reversible when addressed early.
- 04
Structured, sustained follow-up beats one-off diets and reduces the rebound effect.
- 05
We do not measure the scale alone: body composition, waist circumference and metabolic markers all count.
- 06
Supportive medication, where indicated, is individual, monitored, and never replaces the underlying changes.
It is a medical approach to excess weight and to the metabolic changes that almost always come with it: insulin resistance, prediabetes, raised cholesterol or high blood pressure. It starts from where you actually are (history, habits, blood tests and body composition) and builds a personalised plan with continuous follow-up.
They are treated together because they are the same mechanism. Excess fat, particularly abdominal fat, worsens insulin sensitivity; and insulin resistance makes weight harder to lose. Splitting them forces you to pick one door when you need both, and to pay twice for the same blood test.
At Rejuvelook weight is not an end in itself, it is a lever for longevity. Reducing excess fat and correcting metabolic markers improves cardiovascular risk over the medium and long term. That is why we start by measuring, and why the goal is not the scale: it is the whole picture.
It's for you if
- You are overweight or living with obesity and want medical support, not another diet.
- You have been told your sugar, cholesterol or blood pressure are a little high and you are not sure what to do.
- You have lost weight before and regained it, and you are looking for something sustainable.
- You have a family history of diabetes or cardiovascular problems and want to get ahead of it.
- You notice fatigue, difficulty losing weight or abdominal fat and want to find out why.
- You prefer decisions based on your own data (blood tests, body composition) rather than generic formulas.
It may not be right if
- Your weight and your markers are within range and you are after a one-off cosmetic change.
- You have an active eating disorder: in that case a specific approach takes priority.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have an acute decompensation, with very abnormal figures and symptoms: that needs immediate medical care, not a programme.
- You already have advanced metabolic disease under hospital follow-up: we coordinate with that care, we do not replace it.
- You are looking for a miracle or an instant fix: you will not find one here, because there isn't one.
A sustained weight loss of roughly 5-10% of body weight already produces clinically meaningful improvements in blood pressure, glucose and lipids for many people.
Prediabetes and insulin resistance are largely reversible: lifestyle change programmes meaningfully reduce the risk of progressing to type 2 diabetes.
Moderate, sustained weight loss clearly improves insulin sensitivity, glucose and the lipid profile in many people.
Metabolic syndrome, the coincidence of several of these factors, multiplies risk, so they are best addressed together rather than in isolation.
Continuous, structured follow-up is associated with better long-term outcomes than one-off interventions: consistency and support matter more than initial intensity.
Combining changes in diet, physical activity, sleep and stress management outperforms acting on a single factor.
In selected cases and only under medical indication, medication can support the process; it is assessed individually and never replaces the underlying changes.
Safety
Risks, contraindications and who should hold off
Losing weight too fast or without oversight can carry unwanted effects: loss of muscle mass, nutritional deficits, gallstones, mood changes or the dreaded rebound effect. On the metabolic side, the main risk is silence: insulin resistance, cholesterol and blood pressure progress without symptoms for years. A medical programme exists to prevent the first and catch the second, with a reasonable pace and periodic checks. When supportive medication is considered, it is only prescribed under medical indication, after reviewing your history, and with follow-up. Certain situations, such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, kidney or liver disease and active eating disorders, rule out or reshape the approach.
Notice
The information on this page is general and educational. It can guide you, but it does not diagnose or prescribe: it does not replace a medical consultation.
How is this different from a regular diet?
There is a doctor behind it, a starting diagnosis and ongoing follow-up. It is not a generic meal plan; it is built on your own data and adjusted as you progress.
What is insulin resistance?
It is a state in which your cells respond less well to insulin, the hormone that moves glucose into them. The body compensates by producing more insulin, and over time that can lead to prediabetes and other issues. It often causes no symptoms at first.
How do I know if I have it?
It is assessed through blood tests, looking at glucose and insulin and their relationship, alongside other markers and your history. Signs like fatigue, difficulty losing weight or abdominal fat can be suggestive, but they do not diagnose it on their own.
Can insulin resistance be reversed?
In many cases, yes, especially when addressed early. Losing excess weight, eating better, moving more and sleeping well meaningfully improve insulin sensitivity.
What is prediabetes?
It is a stage where blood glucose is higher than normal but has not yet reached diabetes levels. It is an opportunity: lifestyle changes can substantially reduce the risk of progressing to type 2 diabetes.
Can prediabetes be cured?
More than "cured," it can be reversed or its progression slowed. Lifestyle programmes have shown a significant reduction in progression to diabetes.
How much weight can I lose?
It depends on your starting point and your consistency. A reasonable medical goal is usually gradual, sustainable loss, not quick numbers that come back later. We set realistic goals for your case during the consultation.
Is it fully online?
Yes. The programme is designed to support you from anywhere in Spain, with medical reviews and follow-up in cycles. Blood tests are done at a lab near you when needed.
Does it include medication?
No. The programme is the medical follow-up and the plan itself. If your doctor considers supportive medication appropriate, it is assessed individually and billed separately, always under medical indication and with monitoring.
Will you prescribe me a trending weight loss drug?
That is not how we work. Medication, if appropriate, is decided case by case based on your history and risks, not on trends, and it never replaces changes in diet and habits.
How much does it cost?
You see the consultation fee before you pay anything. If a follow-up plan makes sense, you get its price in writing and decide in your own time. Lab tests and medication, when indicated, are paid separately, directly to the lab and the pharmacy.
Do I have to go hungry?
That is not the goal, and it would not be sustainable. A good plan helps you eat better, not suffer. Long-term adherence is what drives results, and constant hunger is its main enemy.
What if I have tried everything before and always gain it back?
That is one of the most common reasons to start a medical programme. We analyse why the weight came back, whether metabolism, habits or hormonal factors, and work on the cause, with follow-up to sustain the result.
How do you measure progress?
Not just with the scale. We track body composition (fat and muscle mass), waist circumference and, in some cases, metabolic markers. Losing weight by losing muscle is not a good outcome.
Can I do the programme if I have a medical condition?
In many cases, yes, and with even more reason, since excess weight affects many conditions. Your doctor adapts the plan to your situation.
How often are the check-ins?
Follow-up runs in cycles, with periodic reviews where we measure progress and adjust the plan. Frequency adapts to your programme and your stage.
Can I pause the programme?
Yes. You can pause it for a few months a year and cancel easily. We would rather you come back when you are ready than keep going out of inertia.
Does being overweight affect my longevity?
Excess fat, especially around the abdomen, is linked to higher cardiovascular and metabolic risk. Reducing it improves markers that matter long term.
Does it connect with other programmes?
Yes. The weight programme works hand in hand with the metabolic track, and it can lead into aesthetic medicine once, after losing weight, you want to care for skin or contour.
Didn't you have two programmes, Weight and Metabolic?
We did, and now they are one. Almost everyone who came in for weight had something metabolic to correct, and the other way round. A single programme avoids repeating blood tests and paying twice for the same follow-up.
What if I spend part of the year outside Spain?
Your reviews continue by video call wherever you are. Our prescriptions are dispensed in Spanish pharmacies, so if you will be away we plan it with you before you travel.
