What it is

The why, before the product

A trichology diagnosis is a medical study of the scalp, the follicle and the shedding pattern, with a clear goal: identifying why hair is being lost and which options make sense for you. It's the basis of any serious hair treatment; without it, any product or technique is a shot in the dark.

It rests on three pillars. Imaging: photos of the scalp and the areas of loss that you provide following our guidance, which let us assess density, pattern and progression. Your history: when it started, how it has changed, family history, hormones, medication under medical indication, diet, stress and general health. And, when relevant, blood tests that assess markers such as iron or thyroid function.

At Rejuvelook that study ends in something concrete: a medical reading of your case and a plan. Rejuvelook's AI organises your information and lays it out for your doctor; it guides, but doesn't diagnose. Diagnosis is the doctor's job.

Who it's for

It may make sense if…

  • You're noticing more shedding than usual, less density, a receding hairline or a widening parting, and want to know why.
  • You'd rather understand the cause before spending time and money on randomly chosen products.
  • You want to act early, while the follicle still responds well to treatment.
  • You've already tried treatments with no result and suspect a diagnosis was missing.

The doctor decides whether it is indicated at the consultation.

The process

How it goes, step by step.

  1. 01

    Guided photos

We show you how to photograph the scalp and the areas of loss so the images provide useful information.

  2. 02

    Your history, organised

We gather when it started, how it has changed, family history, hormones, diet, stress and general health.

  3. 03

    Blood tests when relevant

If your history suggests it, we assess markers such as iron or thyroid function, near you.

  4. 04

    Medical reading and plan

Your doctor integrates imaging, history and blood tests, identifies the likely cause and proposes your plan.

Safety

The risk of not diagnosing

A trichology diagnosis is itself a consultation, not an invasive procedure: it carries no meaningful physical risk. The main risk runs the other way, that of not diagnosing: treating without studying can delay detection of a correctable cause and waste time during which the follicle still responded better. A remote diagnosis relies on the quality of the photos and the information you provide. Some cases require an in-person consultation or further tests under medical indication, and the diagnosis itself determines when. In the presence of warning signs, such as pain, discharge or sudden shedding with general symptoms, in-person medical attention is called for without delay.

Questions

What people ask before the first appointment.

Another question? Message us on WhatsApp.

What is a trichology diagnosis?

It's a medical study of the scalp, the follicle and the shedding pattern to identify why hair is being lost. It relies on imaging, your history and, when relevant, blood tests. It's the basis for treating you with judgement and for measuring progress afterwards.

Can it be done online, with photos?

Yes. The diagnosis relies on photos of the scalp that you provide following our guidance, together with your history and, when relevant, blood tests. It's done by video call from anywhere in Spain. In some cases your doctor may recommend an in-person consultation.

How do I take the photos?

We give you specific guidance on areas, lighting and framing so the images provide useful information. Photo quality is part of the diagnosis, so following the guidance matters.

What blood tests are requested?

It depends on your history. When the case suggests it, we assess markers such as iron, thyroid function or others, because hair often reflects general health. Tests aren't requested by default: only when they add value.
